Presidents Message
Michele Mills
Thank you all for the support you have given to me and the UHIMSS Board of Directors over the last few months. We have seen a swell in both interest and memberships, which will translate into better programs and networking for everyone. There is much speculation surrounding healthcare reform. On all sides of the issue there are pros and cons. The HIMSS Advocacy group is continuously involved with what is going on in Washinton D.C and around the country. Locally, we have a new Advocacy Chair, Eric Peterson. He has Jace Manning working with him on this assignment and I'm looking for some exciting things to come from their collaboration. They will both be attending HIT Week and Advocacy Day in Washington D.C. in September, so look for details in the next newsletter.
Your feedback, ideas and volunteer efforts are always welcome! If you know of anyone interested in becoming a member and/or a sponsor, please let me know at michele.mills@utah-himss.org. And if there is anything I or the board can do to make your membership in HIMSS more rewarding either send me an email or connect with me at the next UHIMSS event!
