As part of National Health IT Week, UHIMSS board members Eric Peterson and Jace Manning will participate in the 8th Annual HIMSS Policy Summit, September 22-23 in Washington, DC. This two day event will include an interactive “Prep Rally” followed by a day of prearranged meetings with Utah’s Congressional representatives and their staff members. Discussions will center on crucial aspects of health IT policy such as funding and incentives, adoption of EHR standards, patient privacy and data security, as well as the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
